Looking ahead to Spring/Summer bag collections

Just as Autumn is the time to plant bulbs for Spring, it’s also the last chance for custom made tote bags to go into production, ready to hit shelves in time to catch Spring sales. We’ve been working with some brilliant British designers this season, and our team’s been helping these brands get ready for their Spring/Summer collections. Here is a round-up of WBC’s latest Floral designs.

Kew Gardens is London’s largest UNESCO World Heritage site. It offers unique landscapes, vistas and iconic architecture from every stage of the Gardens’ history.

The collection of living plants is the largest and most diverse in the world, growing out in the landscape and within our glasshouses and nurseries.

Many of us have a story to tell of beautiful long days in its gardens. People flock from all over the world to marvel at its oldest tree, a chestnut-leafed oak planted about 1695. Astounded at natures propensity to last longer and stronger than we could.

So when Kew Gardens came to us requesting a floral design tote bag that would form part of its Spring 2018 collection, we were delighted to take part. Kew wanted the end floral design to have a scientific feel to it. WBC’s art department came up with a concept that worked as a floral pattern while incorporating dissected plant diagrams. The finished design is a nod to the form and anatomical drawings of vintage botanical illustrations.

MORRIS & CO WBC Bags for life spring collection for Morris & co

Morris & Co have an amazing history. Founded in 1861 by William Morris – Morris, Marshall, Faulkner & Co. were a British furnishings and decorative arts manufacturer and retailer. Best known for wallpaper and fabric designs, over the next 150 years, the company became known simply as Morris & Co.

They went into voluntary liquidation in 1940, but the design archives and remaining wallpaper stock were purchased by another household name in home furnishings, Arthur Sanderson & Sons.

Morris & Co. has remained a part of the Sanderson family ever since and today they sit alongside each other as distinctive and unique brands under the Style Library umbrella.

The bag we printed here stays true to the Arts and Crafts movement which celebrates the joy of craftsmanship over industrialisation. The tote bag is made in canvas with a light grey webbed matching handle. It employs one of Morris’ signature ornate floral prints. The perfect choice for spring.
